A new paper using NorCAS data on the link between Diabetes and Congenital Anomalies is published

The paper using NorCAS data entitled 'Peri-conception hyperglycaemia and nephropathy are associated with risk of congenital anomaly in women with pre-existing diabetes: a population-based cohort study' has been published in the February issue of the journal Diabetologia.
The main finding of the paper is that the risk of congenital anomalies such as congenital heart disease and spina bifida increases four-fold if the pregnant mother has diabetes.
